Wilderness Festival
Creating an immersive, high-energy music venue for big bands, beats and bass.
The brief
Wilderness Festival is a music, arts and wellness event held every year in the Oxfordshire countryside.
In 2025, we were asked to creatively produce three venues across the site, including Jumpyard. The brief was to introduce a new look and theme, while creating an atmosphere that matched the energy of the bands and DJs performing.
Our approach
We took inspiration from a South African beer hall, designing the fascia to work with a Cruck tent structure.
Built from plywood and recycled materials, the structure was designed and built to be fully demountable, so that it could be packed into a shipping container for storage and reuse year after year.
Like all our decor and sets, authenticity was key. The set needed to feel weathered and lived in, and that’s exactly what we delivered.
The result
Drawing on 20 years of scenic art experience, we hand-finished every surface, built bespoke props and dressed the space so it felt like it had always been there. Old weatherboard, dusty plasterwork, broken shutters. The result was a rugged, immersive venue that enhanced the energy of every performance.
