Atlantis Golf
An immersive underwater-themed mini-golf course full of photo opportunities.
The brief
In 2023, Sunderland Golf invited us to redesign and build their indoor mini golf course. The brief was to create a fully themed experience, suitable for all ages, with nine holes and different difficulty levels, built to last and full of photo opportunities.
Our approach
After presenting theme options, we landed on underwater golf. We then crafted a clear narrative taking people on a journey throughout the course. Beginning on the beach, players move through a cave and into an underwater world, discovering a shipwreck, a sunken city, a treasure chest and a giant octopus.
From there, we designed each hole to take players deeper into the story. Giant sea creatures, low lighting and rockpools filled the space. We also worked with an artist to create an under-the-sea mural that gave the feeling of endless water stretching beyond the course.
The result
A fully immersive indoor experience that works for every age and keeps people coming back. Every detail, from the opening hole to the last, was designed to draw players deeper into the underwater world.
